Hello
Welcome to Little Words Speech and Language Therapy, based in Basingstoke, Hampshire. Little Words provides Speech and Language assessment, advice, training, 1:1 therapy and home/setting-based therapy programmes.
I offer services for children where there are concerns around language development, speech sounds including unclear speech, nasal speech and cleft palate and fluency/stammering in the under 7’s.

Appointments can be offered face to face in the family’s home, the child’s educational setting or via an online virtual appointment.
About Me
My name is Emma Cullen and I have worked in the NHS for over 19 years as a Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist. My area of specialism is working with preschool children and I have experience working with primary age children. My experience and enjoyment of working with families has led me to creating Little Words.

Understanding each child, how I can work with the family to support a child’s communication skills and seeing the child make progress is what brings me to work and enthuses me to keep learning in my profession.
I am a registered member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice and I am registered with the Health Care Professions Council. I have an enhanced clean DBS certificate.
Outside of my work I am a mum of 3 and spend much of my time on the side of a football pitch and driving my children from one activity to another whilst juggling all those other parental duties with my husband. I enjoy dancing and take the opportunity to enjoy a dance class as often as I can.

To avoid any conflict of interest I am not able to offer services to families who are on my active NHS caseload. If you are unsure if this is the case for your child, please contact me.
